Question #2: A- I have a fear of heights and it is a fear I've had for a while but didn't every talk about until recently. When I am near a rail, or a cliff or something that is high with little to nothing between me and the edge of it, I feel uncertainty and no confidence. I feel the fear that I will not have the ability to control what would happen if I came close to the edge; that someone might push me off or that I might fall on accident.
It started with a dream, I went to sea world with my family in this dream and I fell over the side and was holding onto a rail that went into a shark tank. I then fell in. I then would repeat this dream many times.
B- A group of people that I have seen treated differently are the Hispanics. While I served an LDS Mission, I would hear a bunch of raciest jokes from the southerners near by. I would also hear about how they were not treated very well in their jobs. A Mexican once said to me that his boss would not pay them for the work they did, and that he was raciest.
C- I have seen how many people we consider to be "Goths" are looked down upon. I have a few friends that are Goths and have been treated like outsiders. They were never invited to big parties, they rarely went to dances, and were on their own side not surrounded by many people when they were. I remember one girl that would tell jokes to me all the time in my history class senior year, and was a very nice person, was considered a Goth but was never seen at any dances and I never saw here with anyone else who was not a Goth. She was considered the weird one in our history class.
Question #4 People remember things that relate to them. For example, if there is a story of someone breaking their arm they can relate it to others who haven't by saying it was like getting a cavity out without medication and ten times worse. A lot of people can relate to cavities and think, wow that must have really heart. It helps the author reach people on a very personal level and helps them understand deeply.
Question #5: Our attitude to the poor in general is that they are lazy people that do not WANT to hold jobs, that do not WANT to be successful, and that they are just scum that we see on the side of the road as we drive. The world would be better without them, many people think and they are not human.
I do not see them in that way, but I have seen them like that before. A friend once told me that it was their fault that they are there, and that they do not deserve any money. From what I have learned is that bad circumstances can happen to anyone and that doesn't make them bad, just unfortunate.
